If you ride, crew, or simply love watching horses fly a cross-country course, New Market, Tennessee is already on your calendar. River Glen Equestrian Park sits on the Holston River here and runs recognized USEA horse trials several times a year — spring, June, summer and fall — with divisions from Starter all the way up through Advanced/Intermediate, and FEI CCI2*-S and CCI3*-S divisions on the June card. Riders haul in from across the Southeast for the cross-country course, the dressage rings and the show jumping arena.
Ten miles from the in-gate
Cedar Pond Farms is a working Scottish Highland cow farm about ten miles from River Glen — close enough for an early ride time, far enough that your evenings are pasture-quiet. Our long farm drive and open ground mean real room for a truck and horse trailer, not a hotel lot where you circle for two spaces that touch. Pull in, park level, and walk to your door.
Elevated stays with a view of the herd
Our barndominium farm stays are elevated, modern suites and whole-building rentals with long views over the fields — the kind of porch you actually use after a day at the trials. Our Premium Highland Cow Experience puts you in the field with the fluffiest herd in East Tennessee — brushing, photos, and two hours with animals who love the attention.
