Highland Cattle for Sale · New Market, Tennessee

Buy a Fluffy Highland Cow

Our Highlands aren’t pasture ornaments raised at a distance — they’re hand-fed, halter-trained, and around people every single day. When you buy from Cedar Pond Farms, you’re buying a cow that already likes humans.

Why Our Cattle Are Different

Raised With People, Not Just Around Them

Scotland’s oldest breed is famously hardy and gentle — but temperament isn’t only genetics, it’s handling. Every day at Cedar Pond Farms our Highlands are fed, brushed, and given treats by our farm guides and by guests on our cow experiences. That daily contact is the single biggest reason our animals are easy to work with when they get to your place.

People Every Single Day

Our herd is hand-fed and given treats by guests daily on our cow experiences. They’re used to being approached, touched, brushed, and photographed — not skittish, not flighty.

Halter-Trained & Handled

Our cattle have had a halter on them and are used to being led and worked with. That head start is worth an enormous amount the first time you need to move, load, or treat your animal.

Vet Care Kept Current

All routine veterinary treatments are done on schedule — vaccinations, worming, and health checks — so your animal leaves here current and we can tell you exactly what it’s had and when.

Before You Buy

Come Spend Two Hours With Them First

We strongly recommend every new buyer book a Premium Cow Encounter before purchasing. This isn’t an upsell — it’s the best two hours you can spend before taking on an animal that may live 15–20 years.

You’ll get extended, hands-on time with the herd: feeding, brushing, and behind-the-scenes access. You’ll see how they actually behave, how they’re handled, what daily care really looks like, and you can ask us every question you have — fencing, feed, shelter, hoof care, temperament, cost of keeping. Most buyers tell us it completely changed what they thought they were getting into.

Buying a Highland is a long commitment. We’d rather you meet them, ask the hard questions, and be certain — than take one home and discover it wasn’t the fit you pictured.

How Buying Works

Simple, Slow, and Honest

1 · Meet them

Book a Premium Cow Encounter and spend real time with the herd. Tell us what you’re looking for — a pet, a breeding pair, a small starter herd.

2 · Pick your animal

We’ll walk you through who’s available — calves, heifers, and registered stock — along with lineage, temperament, and honest pricing. See the current herd →

3 · We raise it out

Fall in love with a calf and we keep raising it here until it’s ready — pickup at about six months old, weaned, halter-started, and used to people.

4 · Take them home

We hand off complete vet records and stay available afterward. We answer our buyers’ questions for as long as they own the animal — that never expires.

🐮 There’s no online checkout for livestock — and there shouldn’t be. Every sale starts with a conversation.
