Basketball season means winter trips to Knoxville — Vols and Lady Vols nights in a loud, warm arena, then stepping out into the cold with the whole crowd at once. The trick is what comes after: a calm drive out of downtown to a farm where the only noise is a barn owl.
An easy drive, an easier morning
Cedar Pond Farms sits in New Market, roughly half an hour from campus — close enough for tip-off, far enough that game-night traffic is somebody else's problem by the time you're on the porch. Park free at the farm, always beside your unit.
Winter is the farm's secret season
Highland cattle were built for Scottish winters, so ours are at their shaggy, photogenic best exactly when basketball is on. Cold-morning coffee with the herd in view is the picture guests send us back all summer. The Premium Highland Cow Experience runs year-round — two hours in the field with coats at full fluff.
Make it a doubleheader weekend
Pair a Saturday men's game with a Sunday Lady Vols matinee and stay both nights: full kitchen for pre-game meals, laundry for the road trip, gelato in the freezer if you booked direct. Groups fit too — B suites sleep fourteen, whole buildings sleep twenty-two.
