Every eventing family knows the where-to-stay problem: the venue is rural, the chain hotels are a highway exit away, and nobody built their parking lot for a gooseneck. For River Glen Horse Trials weekends, there is a better answer about ten miles from the park.
Built for rigs, not rental cars
Cedar Pond Farms is a 50-acre working farm outside Knoxville — our lanes and gravel aprons take a dually and trailer without a three-point turn in front of an audience. Park beside your unit, plug in what needs power, and you're done until your ride time.
Sleep like you didn't spend the day on course
Choose a one-bedroom barndo suite for two, a three-bedroom B suite that sleeps fourteen for the whole barn family, or take an entire building when the trainer, the grooms and three kids all haul together. Full kitchens mean 5 AM coffee before the dressage warm-up, and a real washer for show clothes that met the water complex.
The farm hosts you itself
Book direct and you are the farm's own guest — the same people who feed our Highland herd every morning send your door code, and a human who knows the property answers questions at nine at night. Early departure for cross-country day? Just ask.
Rest day at the farm
Bring the family out to meet our Scottish Highland cows — the Premium Highland Cow Experience is two hours in the field brushing the shaggiest, sweetest animals in Jefferson County, and younger siblings who spent Saturday holding ponies get their own animal time on Sunday. There's also a two-acre pond stocked with catch-and-release catfish when someone needs an hour of quiet.
